These are beta elements for Mario Kart 7.

Beta Elements

E3 2010 demo

  • Alpine Pass and Mario Circuit didn't have a ramp where the glider could be activated. Also there were no ramps because Nintendo didn't confirm that tricks would appear in the game.
  • Wuhu Island Loop didn't have a ramp on the bridge.
  • Mario Circuit didn't have any ramps present in the grass.

E3 2011 demo

  • The demo included the Spiny Shell with wings in the item roulette. In the final, it is replaced with the wingless version.
  • Several ramps in Alpine Pass are not present.
  • The Screaming Pillars in DK Jungle do not have the occasional scream.
  • The music for the character-selection menu was the same as Mario Kart Wii's. Also, the results screen and final-lap sound effect were from it, too.

Gamescom 2011 Demo

Scrapped Customisation Parts

A kart frame named Bullet Duck was mentioned on several websites, but was not seen in the game. Also, a kart, called Banana Buggy, was mentioned, which is likely an early name for the Bolt Buggy, because this kart is called Banana Buggy, or something similar in many languages, other than English.[1] The Streamliner was mentioned due to a recognition mistake. It was actually the Blue Seven.

Other

  • Oddly, in the Nintendo Press Conference 2011 Footage, the Lucky Seven doesn't have a chequered border. Said border is strangely present in the final version.
  • Whenever it is the Final Lap, Lakitu's sign says Final Lap; in the final version, it says 3/3.
