Three Roosters.

Roosters[1] are male members of a chicken species that appears in Wario Land II. Roosters are quite tall in appearance, being the same size as Wario. They also have sharp beaks which they use to defend themselves. Wario's pet chicken Hen might be a female member of their species.

Roosters have only appeared in Wario Land II, while the possibly female members of their species reappeared in the modern version of the Game & Watch title Fire Attack in Game & Watch Gallery Advance.

History

Wario Land II

Roosters could be found as enemies in this game. They mainly appeared in stage 2-1: Return the Hen to Her Nest, but could also be found in another level. Despite their menacing look they behave friendly as long as Wario ignores them. However, as soon as Wario touches them, they will get enraged and peck at the treasure hunter which will cost him some coins if he gets hit. They also chase him while he is holding Hen.

Roosters are very persistent, so Wario cannot even damage them with his ramming attack. Attacking them like that will only stun them for a short time. While stunned they can be picked up. Roosters are heavy enemies and Wario's speed and jump distance will decrease while carrying one. They can only be defeated by groundpounding on them.
