That was done for a reason on the SMG2 quote article, and number two, on that same page, we don't need to list EVERY SINGLE LINE Rosalina says. --M. C. - "Mario Gals" Fan! User Page | Talk Page 17:24, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Fine. There wasn't a page to my knowledge where characters' lines can be posted -- and believe me, some people like to see other character's lines -- so I merely used that Quotes Page to place them there. Sorry about that! --Zootalo 17:34, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Parascope

As what you wrote in the article page. "The Parascope is an unseen device invented by Professor E. Gadd that is used to detect paranormal signals in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon." If this is true that it is not seen in the game, the article must be merge to List of implied items, which feature many item unseen in the Mario related media.

Can you get those pictures? :) --LTIan (talk) 14:05, 28 September 2013 (EDT)

British vs American spellings

re your edit here: The articles names are indeed mandated to use the NA localization names over PAL due to traffic being overwhelmingly from the former. However, the spelling in the actual articles can be of either convention and it's discouraged to change one to the other. Just a friendly pointer ;). --Glowsquid (talk) 15:31, 17 October 2013 (EDT)

Moving files

Hello. When you move files please make sure to update the file names and tag the redirect with deletion. Thanks. Yoshi876 (talk)

Uploading images

Hey good job in uploading sprites but please don't upload duplicate files of sprites. If they already exist, use those instead of having to upload each sprite individually. If you don't like the name, you may always move the files. Usually, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars bestiary has all the enemy images you need, just missing some static, non-gif ones and artwork ones. Hey. Good job on the stat articles, but I'd recommend making a workpage before putting them onto the wiki, as you say you are creating stubs and creating stubs is actually breaking the rules. Yoshi876 (talk)

Paper Mario Quotes

Do you know if scripts can be submitted? (I'd like to see the conversations in Paper Mario organized and presented as a script, like a storybook one, but Nintendo may stop this because this may spoil and limit Nintendo from selling the game.) If you upload the screenshots via the web browser on the Wii U (on tinypic.com or another site), the screenshot quality is better than via Miiverse. - Robert ^.^ (talk)

One hidden block missed

When I played Paper Mario some months ago, I remembered to have found a hidden coin block in Gusty Gulch, in a house on the north side of one of the two places where Boos live. Yet it doesn't seem to be in the article "List of hidden blocks in Paper Mario". Another gossip-loving Toad (talk) 08:10, 28 March 2015 (EDT)

Ah, yes, I actually had that one in the guide but I removed it when, upon closer look, was just an ordinary block covered by most of the house's walls rather than an invisible one -- which is what the list only covers. --Zootalo (talk) 11:10, 28 March 2015 (EDT)
Ordinary? Oh, I see. Sorry. Another gossip-loving Toad (talk) 00:49, 29 March 2015 (EDT)

Icon request

Hey... Can you help with this table? An icon for the Cleanser is needed there, but there isn't an icon for that on this wiki. It can probably be found on this sheet from the Spriters Resource, but I don't know which one is. Thanks! Another gossip-loving Toad (talk) 23:46, 4 April 2015 (EDT)

In the batch of sprites on the left in that sprite sheet, it's the small purple bowl with green fluid in it. Hope that helps! --Zootalo (talk) 01:09, 5 April 2015 (EDT)

Thank you. By the way, nice work for catching that Shooting Star! Another gossip-loving Toad (talk) 07:19, 11 April 2015 (EDT)

Edit history

Don't edit a single page many consecutively like you did to the Paper Mario bestiary page. This floods the edit history. If you have to make a big edit, do it in one large edit. Viper26's avatarViper26's signature text (talk · edits) 17:57, 9 April 2015 (EDT)

It's not that big of a deal. If you know that you're going to make multiple edits to an article, it'd be helpful if you mark them as minor, but the Paper Mario bestiary edits are fine. There was at least twenty minutes between the edits, and you only did about three edits in a single day. It's obstructive for the page's history, but with big projects like what you're tackling, it sometimes can't be helped. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
Well, I don't know why you guys didn't tell me this earlier; I would've made all those edits on my Sandbox instead, or offline if even that chokes the history there too. No one had an issue with this when I redesigned the Super Mario RPG bestiary and made quite a few edits on the page as well, so I didn't think it'd be too big of a deal. Anyway, thanks for the heads-up. --Zootalo (talk) 19:07, 10 April 2015 (EDT)

Badges

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure about the colours myself. It took me forever just to actually get it working, and the colours were a bit of an afterthought. Feel free to make changes as you see fit. One question, though: where did you find the drop rate for All or Nothing? Hello, I'm Time Turner.

Yeah! A new project, that would be fun! By the way, since each badge's gonna have its own page, it'll be unnecessary for the Badge article to be cramped with lots of info. Merluvlee's predictions (which I added) can be moved to the corresponding pages. Another gossip-loving Toad (talk) 00:33, 22 April 2015 (EDT)
It would be better to name the "Merluvlee's predictions" section just "Hints", because other characters can also give hints, like Tolielip and the Toad in the first house in Dry Dry Outpost. (By the way, do you know the Toad's name?) --Another gossip-loving Toad (talk) 00:18, 27 April 2015 (EDT)
I'd say to keep doing both. The fraction shows exactly what the game is taking into consideration, while the percentage gives a layman's explanation of the fraction, so to speak. Having both is certainly helpful. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
This may be just me being dumb, but on your drop rate charts, the percents seem to be a bit weird: for example, on Jumpman (badge), the drop rate of 2/300 is listed as being 0.66%, but wouldn't it actually be 0.0067%? I mean, I'm assuming you're dividing the numerator by the denominator, in which case those two zeroes can't just disappear + you need to round your last decimal up since it's a six. Just dropping by with your recommended daily dose of math! Hello, I'm Time Turner.
That "times 100" bit isn't actually present in the chart, though: taken at face value, people are very likely to interpret their chance of getting the badge as 0.67% and not 0.0067%, which can have a genuine difference. It might be "neater" to not have those zeroes, but it's also incorrect, and I say it's better to have the actual information than to potentially confuse or misinform readers. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
You'll be achieving the same thing with more text, and personally, "0.67/100" isn't something I find particularly neat or better than just the percentage, though part of that's personal bias. I'd find it simpler to keep the percentage. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
You're still doing it. As I've said, your extra calculation of times 100 has a good chance of being misconstrued, so I recommend making changes. Hello, I'm Time Turner.

Drop Rates

Any idea how I could calculate the drop rates for Paper Mario items? Binarystep (talk) 00:27, 28 April 2015 (EDT)

Would it be possible to make a rough estimate based on how many enemies out of [some number] drop [whatever item]? Binarystep (talk) 00:59, 28 April 2015 (EDT)
I actually started something similar to that a while ago, it's still a work in progress of course, I have a long way to go (especially with Amazy Dayzees, though they may just have the same drop rates as Crazee Dayzees?). Binarystep (talk) 02:01, 28 April 2015 (EDT)

Charts

I'm going to say with certainty that creating individual pages for differing NA/EU/JP stats is a bit too excessive. If you're going to do anything to the bestiary charts, I'd suggest, if possible, trimming some of the blank space around the text, because that's definitely eating away at the space and would potentially free up space for other stuff, though considering the size of the text already, I wouldn't recommend shrinking it. I'd be fine with keeping the charts on the same page, though that's mostly just personal preference. Hello, I'm Time Turner.

Paper Mario Bestiary

Hello, it seems that you contributed a lot to the article "Paper Mario Bestiary". I'd like to know, are you sure if the list of items dropped by enemies is comprehensive, so that I can make my "items found" project more accurate? If you aren't, I'd better just mention that "items can be dropped by enemies", instead of listing them. --Another gossip-loving Toad (talk) 00:58, 11 May 2015 (EDT)

I actually won't work on Badge pages for a while, and I think it would also be nice to have Merluvlee's prediction on a collapsible section of the chart on the right of the page. Anyway, good luck on writing individual Badge pages! I plan to do a PMTTYD Star Pieces / Shine Sprite list after finishing the PM one. --Another gossip-loving Toad (talk) 09:33, 17 May 2015 (EDT)

Template

Personally, I don't think the template's necessary. It just seems like it's complicating something that's easily done with a set of italics and quotes, and I find that any sort of template is simply too gaudy. It's not as if any of the minigames need templates for their descriptions, right? Hello, I'm Time Turner.

Considering you've already set up tables for the drop rates (and it's probably the most convenient way to neatly display the information), if no other reason than to simplify things for people in the future. You'd probably want to ask someone else to create it, though; most of my code is copied from other templates, and then I spent the next few days messing with it until I get something that sort of counts as "presentable". Hello, I'm Time Turner.

P&DSMBE World Maps

  • That's going to be a long and tedious task, and I don't have ALL the worlds completed either. Anyway, the process will likely be on the slow side, considering the number of times that you'll have to alternate between the game and Miiverse. RedYoshiMK7Signature.png M&SG (talk) 14:23, 19 June 2015 (EDT)
  • The Orbs that are required to reach the secret exits do change between the normal worlds and special worlds, since their course formats can end up changing. For example, the secret exit for World 1-4 requires you to make Light Orbs to enter, but in ★World 1-4, the secret exit can't be accessed unless you can make Wood Orbs. RedYoshiMK7Signature.png M&SG (talk) 15:08, 16 July 2015 (EDT)
  • If there are changes to the course formats, then the requirements that are needed to take a certain path will change. Since all special world Ghost Houses are heartless courses that only contain Fire, Water, Wood, and Dark Orbs, you have to make Light Orbs to access their secret exit routes, if they exist. RedYoshiMK7Signature.png M&SG (talk) 16:05, 16 July 2015 (EDT)
  • As for your other request (the one where you want me to upload a screenshot of the world select menu to make a template out of), it won't work out too well, since the normal worlds and special worlds are not put together on the same screen like with New Super Mario Bros. 2. hello

Now that the Star Piece list and the Shine Sprite list of PMTTYD are finished, I'm planning for the item list. One question: Since it is possible for me to miss some items (like that Shooting Star in PM), if I say "Items found in this area include:", will the reader know that the table is possibly not comprehensive? Another gossip-loving Toad (talk) 21:46, 19 June 2015 (EDT)

Yes, I copied the colors from the enemy formation pages. Did you come up with those color codes? Or who deserves to be credited? Missing chuckle bean location in Mario and Luigi Super Star Saga.

Hi, thanks for the great article on all the chuckle bean locations in M&L:SSS. However you missed one location in Hoohoo Village. Chuckle bean in cave. This is the cave that leads up to the top bridge where Mario can get infinite coins from powering the turbine.

Hope you get a chance to update the guide. 98.246.88.99 00:57, 8 July 2015 (EDT)

badge

For Paper Mario badge pages, since User:Time Turner seems to want "Merluvlee's prediction in Paper Mario" only, would it be a good idea to include Merluvlee's prediction in the infobox, like Goombario's tattle? (Other quotations can be moved to List of quotes in Paper Mario instead.) I'm regret for arguing with Time Turner, so can you... -- Another gossip-loving Toad (talk) 23:30, 10 July 2015 (EDT)

Buy price?

I'm not entirely sure it's necessary to include the price of badges in the infobox. The information's already covered in the main body of the article, and only a select few badges can actually be purchased, whereas, say, the sell price is applicable to all badges (in TTYD, at least). Hello, I'm Time Turner.

The buy price is almost always double the sell price, so even on that front, it's kinda unnecessary, and as I've said, the buy price is already in the actual article. Hello, I'm Time Turner.

PM:TTYD, M&L:SS, PiT, BIS enemy / item info

Hey! I noticed you've been working on adding a lot of Superstar Saga and Paper Mario TTYD stats / item locations to the Wiki! It's been a while since I did any work on that kind of stuff, but I see you must have stumbled upon my site at some point. I do have some complete enemy / item stat info for Partners in Time and Bowser's Inside Story handy that may not be on there, if you ever need it. (Also, some complete Mario Party 5 - 7 mini-game decathlon score tables, if anyone's even interested in that mode.) - Jdaster64

Sure thing; I have some old Excel spreadsheets for both of those games' enemy stats and PiT's item stats:
PiT Stats - Enemies (US) - Enemies (JP) - Items
BIS Stats - Enemies; the rest is on my site.
For the Partners in Time items, "SD%" is Stache Discount percentage; to calculate discounts, multiply 25 + the Bros' average STACHE by (SD / 100%) for sell discount %, and halve that result for buy discount %.
