Things you can do

As you can see, we have a lot to offer you, but don't get alarmed and overwhelmed. At first, you may not want to try and take on too much at once. Be sure you can handle tasks you are given. A good way to start out is to hit the Random page link on the left and fixing any mistakes you may see. As you become familiar with the internal workings of this wiki, you can start to take on bigger projects. However, these are merely suggestions -- feel free to help however you would like!

Feel free to delete this message when you're done reading it. After all, your user space belongs to you. I hope this information is helpful, and that you'll have a great experience contributing to our knowledge-base and our community. If you have any questions, leave me a message on my talk page and I will try to help as best I can. I hope you enjoy your time here, and most importantly, have fun with it!

All the best,
Phoenix

PiT Stats[edit]

Good thinking on adding the notices to the Partners in Time enemy infoboxes. However, instead of including the whole spacious explanation, just say "Stats in parentheses are from the Japanese and European versions of the game if they differ from the original U.S. stats." You can also move the citation (with the full explanation) down from the title to the notice, like you sorta did with Boo Guy (only there's no need to have the same citation twice). I did this on Boom Guy, if you want to see an example. Keep up the good work! - Walkazo 19:46, 30 June 2009 (EDT)

Thank You for fixing that. I am still new at editing. I do have question. I found the template to the Partners in Time enemy boxes. I believe if I was to edit the Notice section it would show up on all of the articles. However I do not know how to do that so could you edit it for me or could you tell me how to do it? Here is the link: [1] --Super Goku V 19:52, 30 June 2009 (EDT)

Seeing as references have to be "closed" with <references/> at the bottom of every page containing them (in a special "Reference" section), simply adding the notice to the template so that it appears on all enemies would not work if you want to include the citation as well. Going around to every article individually and adding the notice (and moving the citation) is the only thing you can do; it may be tedious, but that's the nature of most Wiki editing. I'll be happy to help you add the notices, though (strangely enough, I enjoy this kind of gruntwork), if you want. - Walkazo 20:07, 30 June 2009 (EDT)
Sure. I though it would work as I go to another wiki and there was a problem with one of the template as it was displaying the wrong info everywhere it was linked to it.--Super Goku V 20:48, 30 June 2009 (EDT)
Maybe it was vandalized; we've had that happen here a couple times. Anyway, I'll start adding the stat notices right away. - Walkazo 21:17, 30 June 2009 (EDT)
Ok. Sorry I can not help as I have to get off. I will help if I can later. --Super Goku V 21:54, 30 June 2009 (EDT)
No problem. - Walkazo 21:57, 30 June 2009 (EDT)
Thank you for getting them. I was just about to finish editing Wonder Thwack when you edited it.--Super Goku V 23:32, 30 June 2009 (EDT)

No problem. I've made some changes to what the new format should look like. After you remove the current reference from the headers, add this to the bottom of the infobox (above the "|}"):

|notice = Stats in parentheses are from the Japanese and European versions of the game if they differ from the original American stats.<ref>[http://themushroomkingdom.net/mlpit_guide.shtml TMK Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time Enemy Guide]. Some stats were changed from the original American version of the game to the Japanese and European versions.</ref>

It cuts back on repetiation and replaces "U.S." with "American", which is more accurate. Just be on the look-out for references with names (I'm pretty sure it looks like this: <ref name="__"/>) - I almost wrecked a few of those as I was cutting-and-pasting the changes... - Walkazo 23:50, 30 June 2009 (EDT)

I hope you don't mind, but I sort of went ahead and finished all of it myself. I had time to burn, and as I said before, this sorta undertaking is right up my alley. I did all the enemies and bosses, but I didn't bother searching around for anything more, seeing as it was 4:00 AM by that point; you're welcome to poke around or double check or do whatever you want. Just remember, I may have done the gruntwork, but the improvements to the PiT enemy articles would never would have been made if you hadn't taken the initiative to start adding those notices (and thus grabbed my attention - I have a bad habit of latching on to other peoples' projects...). So once again, sorry, and thank you, and I'll talk to you later! - Walkazo 04:02, 1 July 2009 (EDT)
It is all right. I just noticed that there was a sigh on the template that was not being used. I knew what it was for, but it did not work out when I tried to do it. Anyways thank you for finishing that for me, as you did all of the work.--Super Goku V 19:33, 1 July 2009 (EDT)
