Image removals[edit]

Hello. Was there a reason why you were removing valid images from the Toadette gallery?

Warning[edit]

Warning.svg
This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior (repeatedly removing valid information without giving a reason) on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site.
If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

Your edits have already been reverted by L151 (talk) and myself. You must give a reason for the removals of those valid images from the gallery. If this continues, this account will be blocked.

more info[edit]

hello that info i put down i am just new i want to learn how to add in images and sprites i think toadette has too much info could you please teach me how to add in images and sprites please birdo is an important character she needs more info in her page and the gallery:)

You don't need to keep saying you are new to the wiki every time you make a post. And there are more than 2 gameplay photos of the M&S2016ROG if you scroll down to near the bottom of the page. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 12:09, 21 August 2016 (EDT)

I am talking about the 3ds version of m&s2016rog there are only two photos from the 3ds version

Yeah, I just realized that and was just about to edit my post. My bad! Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 12:12, 21 August 2016 (EDT)

Welcome![edit]

Hello! Welcome to the wiki. I noticed you're adding information pertaining to Birdo, and as a fellow Birdo fan it is much appreciated. I noticed on the Mario Golf: World Tour Gallery page that you took a few edits to add a picture of Birdo. When editing a page, next time use the Show preview button before pressing the "Save page" button so you can check what the page will look like after you edit it, so you needn't make too many edits and clutter up the page's history backlog.

Also, Gallery pages are meant to include every image of that character/game that has been uploaded to the wiki. An image should only be removed if they are fundamentally identical to another; that would mean the exact same scene from the exact same game (in the case of gameplay screenshots), or the exact same piece of artwork (with no differences whatsoever).

Thanks! MarioComix (talk) 23:02, 21 August 2016 (EDT)

thanks MarioComix i just want to know there are some pictures on google images that are good enough to add into the gallery i want to know how to do it because i dont know how could you show me how and i will tell you more then thanks Mariobirdofan02 :)

Like Mario jc (talk) mentions below, simply go to Upload File on the left Navigation Bar. However, if you are adding photos found during a Google search, please be sure to put in the proper source such as where the image originally came from. Give credit where credit is due, you know?
If you have any questions, feel free to ask around :) Also, be sure to sign your comments with three or four "~", which will make your current signature (which includes your user name and time stamp) show up. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 13:37, 22 August 2016 (EDT)

Editing[edit]

Regarding your recent edit, keep in mind that there should always be a space after punctuation like commas and periods/full stops, and also please remember to italicise all game titles next time (You may have noticed this in other titles in the same page you were editing). This is done like so: ''[[Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games]]'' which becomes: Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (For more information, please read the Manual of Style.)

As for uploading images to the wiki, this is done by going to Special:Upload. This link can also be found under "tools" on the left navigation pane (named "Upload file"). Lucina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 07:17, 22 August 2016 (EDT)

Reminder[edit]

Please stop consistently writing with poor grammar on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing.
If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it.

You are free to use grammar as freely as you'd like on talk pages, but in the main articles, grammar is important. Please write with proper grammar when writing on articles, as many of your mainspace edits have been poorly written, with missing punctuation and spacing. Please consider reading over the Manual of Style and the links provided you in the Welcome notice above. I understand if English isn't your native language, but this is an encyclopedia, and we're expected to follow its writing guidelines. If you need help with any of this, please don't hesitate to ask. Signing[edit]

Hey could you please remember to sign your comments in the future. It will save users like me a lot of trouble to add the {{Unsigned}} template. To sign them you use the following {{User|Mariobirdofan02}} or ~~~ and if you want to put a timestamp: ~~~~ if you have any more questions about this subject ask me, ask a moderator, ask another user, or check this page. Proper punctuation[edit]

Please stop not adding proper punctuation to articles on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing.
If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it.

I know you've been reminded of this already, but you keep forgetting to add in proper punctuation (such as commas and periods) into the sentences you include into articles. Please take more care and proof-read your work before adding it in. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 14:57, 2 October 2016 (EDT)

Writing Quality[edit]

I've noticed you editing several pages to help add to the content of the Wiki, so that's well-appreciated. However, not to sound mean, but your quality of writing does not always match to par with what's expected on the Wiki, so at times your writing seems sloppy. So, I offer two pieces of advice:

  1. Use the "Show preview" button before editing a page. This allows you to review your work in case you notice you made a typo, forgot something, messed up the formatting, etc. This can also help prevent the next point:
  2. Try to minimise the number of edits you make! What I mean, is try to avoid editing one section of a page, saving the edit, then moving on to another section, and making continuous edits like that. Or, editing something but continuously reverting it due to mistakes or changes in thoughts. If you keep all your edits in one "trip", then it also makes it easier for me to help with grammatical errors or improve the writing quality.

Thanks for your help on the Wiki, and I hope you consider these pieces of advice. MarioComix (talk) 18:43, 2 October 2016 (EDT)

Reception sections[edit]

Scoring a 75 in a game is not considered a mixed review, it's still generally positive. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 14:50, 9 October 2016 (EDT)

Linking[edit]

Your question wasn't clear. You want me to pipe links so it shows up like this for interwiki links or show up like this for external links? BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 15:35, 9 October 2016 (EDT)

I wanted it to show up like this
The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mariobirdofan02 (talk).

Yeah, just copy what I did and you should be fine. However, if there's an article in MarioWiki, like Birdo, and you want to write a link in an article, pipe with the former method instead. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 15:40, 9 October 2016 (EDT)

Grammar[edit]

I understand English may be difficult for you, but you must at least understand the most basic grammatical rules when editing. You cannot always rely on others to correct them for you. Some pointers that may help:

  • Always put a space after punctuation, especially the most common ones: periods/full stops (.) and commas (,)
  • Plural forms of words don't need an apostrophe (e.g. "two tournaments", not "two tournament's")

Please refer to MarioWiki:Manual of Style for more information; you can even refer to other users' edits as an example. I wanted to explain your mistakes first, but it is a level one offence, so you may get a warning if this happens again (given that you've already received two reminders). We're an encyclopedia, and a big part of making it one is good grammar. Hope this helps, and keep contributing! Lucina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC

Reminder for grammar[edit]

Please stop writing with very bad grammar on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing.
If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it.
  • Please use a space after punctuation. This includes periods (.), commas (,), semicolons (;), and colons (:).
  • Please use periods (.) at the end of every sentence.
  • Please use plural verbs (such as "are") when writing about more than one object, and use singular verbs (such as "is") when writing about one object. Example: They are / he is
  • Because this is an encyclopedia, use general nouns such as “the player” or “a person” instead of “you”.
  • Write in correct verb tense for describing fiction. Instead of saying “the character will/would get” or “the character got”, say “the character gets”.
  • Use “an” when the next word begins with a vowel sound. Use “a” when the next word begins with a consonant sound. Example: “an apple” “a player” (NOT “a apple” or “an player”)
  • Read MarioWiki:Manual of Style for more information.

Warning.svg
This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior (see above) on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site.
If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.
I'm going to give you a warning for this, actually. You have been told numerous times to fix your editing habits, yet you have failed to do so. Should you continue to write the way you are, a {{lastwarn}} or a block may occur. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 11:30, 22 February 2017 (EST)
Not only that, but you really need to make sure to recheck and see if what you're adding is necessary/noteworthy for the articles themselves. And as Supermariofan67 has stated (as well as others, including myself), we strongly advise that you read the Manual of Style in its entirety immediately before doing any more edits after this point. --M. Italicising[edit]

Just to let you know, only games titles, movie titles, etc. need to be italicised, not characters or every link you create. Lucina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 02:07, 28 May 2017 (EDT)

Birdo in SS+BM[edit]

Hi, I saw your recent edits regarding Birdo in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions. Personally, I have been worried if she would return for this game, and seeing your edits gives me hope. Could I ask you to give me the URL to the video in which you saw Birdo?

the url is https://youtu.be/CVWKoCpvA-k

Ah, thanks. Good to see she's back! MarioComix (talk) 17:13, 30 September 2017 (EDT)

Last warning[edit]

Lastwarn.svg
This is your last warning. The next time you break the rules in any way, you will be blocked from editing the Super Mario Wiki.
If you feel this last warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

You're still forgetting to add spaces after periods. Given that you've been blocked for this once already after you were reminded of this multiple times, you may receive another if this keeps up. Your edits otherwise have been constructive and in good faith, so I'm giving you a final chance to address this simple but important writing guideline.
