This reminder has been overturned by the MarioWiki staff. The original reminder can still be viewed.

Hello, Mallerie7. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:

Images Audio/video files

When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use:

[[Category:Super Mario World images]]
or
[[Category:Super Mario World media files]]
Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Also be sure to select the appropriate licensing from the drop down box. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 19:04, November 6, 2019 (EST)

Uploading images[edit]

Hello. Please be aware that when uploading files, they should be included with an image category and license. To do this easily, you should use the default Special:Upload function (you'll find this under "tools" on the navigation pane) rather than the text editor's uploader. An image category link (found by browsing through Category:MarioWiki images's subcategories) replaces the {{uncategorized}} and depends on where the image is from (so for your recent uploads: [[Category:Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Images]]), and a license is added by selecting from the drop-down menu depending on what the image is (for a screenshot from Mario & Sonic 2020, you select "Video game screenshot"). You must correctly fill in the file information in your uploads. Next time you upload screenshots like these, just add the following into the description:

==Summary==
Description here

==Licensing==
{{game-screenshot}}

[[Category:Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Images]]

Also, no need to say "Here's [character] in [event]", just a short description of what the image shows without the "Here is"/"Here's" is fine. Mario (Gold) costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 21:15, November 7, 2019 (EST)

New stub[edit]

One or more pages that you have recently created have been deleted or marked as a stub article (List of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 quotes). Please consider the following ideas and suggestions when expanding/creating an article:
  • Before saving a new page, be sure that you have put as much effort and information in the article as you can.
  • Make sure that the page follows all of the rules that are outlined in the Manual of Style.
  • Perhaps upload a few images that can be used on the article.
Please don't take this notice as a dejection; this is just an informative notice and we encourage you to keep contributing.

Please do not create stub articles with empty sections and nothing in them. A page should only be created once you have enough information ready. Remember to follow the steps in the Manual of Style when doing so as well, including italics for game titles (Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 must be formatted as Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020), navigation templates, and categories. You can always have a look at other pages as examples. Mario (Gold) costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 19:12, November 17, 2019 (EST)
