The Super Kongs are clones of Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong, and represent them during the Super Guide mode of Donkey Kong Country Returns. Much like the Super Guides in other Super Mario series installments, the Super Kongs assist the player with navigating levels, and feature slightly modified designs of their normal counterparts.<ref>Newton, James (November 9, 2010). Super Kong is a white-furred Donkey Kong lookalike that first appears in Donkey Kong Country Returns. Super Kong only appears in the Super Guide mode, and his role is very similar to the Super Guide seen in New Super Mario Bros. Wii and the Cosmic Spirit in Super Mario Galaxy 2. If the player loses eight lives in a level, a Tutorial Pig appears and asks Donkey Kong if he would like to activate the Super Guide. If the player says yes, then Super Kong appears and completes the level for him.

History
While Super Kong travels throughout the level towards the goal, anything that he collects, such as bananas or other items, will not be counted towards the player's total. He does not access any of the secret paths that lead him into the hidden parts of the level (i.e. Bonus Levels).
Donkey Kong Country Returns / Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
In Donkey Kong Country Returns, if the player loses eight lives in a level (or five in Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D), the Tutorial Pig appears and offers to activate Super Guide. If the player activates Super Guide, Super Kong appears and completes the level for the player. Any items collected by Super Kong, such as bananas, Banana Coins, or Puzzle Pieces, are not kept by the Kongs themselves. Super Kong always goes on a predetermined path to the end goal, meaning he does not access hidden areas or any bonus rooms. The player can press the wii button while Super Guide is activated to take control of Super Kong until the player reaches the goal or loses a life. In the sunset levels of the game, where characters are mainly silhouettes, the Super Kongs remain visually distinct, as they wear blue clothing instead of red.

While Super Kong can be activated during the final boss level, Tiki Tong Terror, the ending cutscene still shows the normal Kongs as opposed to the Super Kongs, who appear in most other cutscenes. This is likely because Tiki Tong's boss introduction is pre-rendered.
It has been mentioned that the choice for Super Kong's tie to be blue instead of red was caused by the sunset levels of the game, which have Donkey Kong in silhouette and, therefore, required Super Kong's tie, as the only thing shown in those levels, to be a different color to differentiate the two.ref needed

Super Smash Bros. series
A white-furred variant of Donkey Kong appears as a playable skin throughout the Super Smash Bros. series. While this alternate color scheme predates Super Kong, it is used as an explicit reference to Super Kong in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate during Professor Chops' spirit battle. Aside from alluding to the connection between Professor Chops and Super Kong in Donkey Kong Country Returns, the white-furred Donkey Kong in this spirit battle references Super Kong's invincibility by being able to escape from movement-disabling moves.
