World 5-Tower is either the fourth or fifth level of Sky Land in Super Mario Bros. 3. It can be played after the completion of either World 5-3 or World 5-Fortress 1. Completing this level takes Mario to the sky portion of the world, and gives access to World 5-4.

Layout

Mario starts the level inside the tower. He comes across four Roto-discs. In between the second and third Roto-discs' orbits is a ? Block which produces a Super Mushroom or Super Leaf, depending on Mario's current status. After these Roto-discs, Mario comes across a Warp Pipe that takes him directly up to the next level of the castle. In this area, Mario must progress left. He encounters a Thwomp right away. After dodging the Thwomp, there is a decent length of no obstacles or items, until he runs into the next Thwomp. To the left of this Thwomp is another Warp Pipe that takes Mario outside on top of one of the tower's external structures. Brick Blocks are abundant in this area, and some are shaped in a traditional castle look. Mario must jump to the next section of Brick Blocks, where the rightmost one is revealed to be a Pile Driver Micro-Goomba. The Brick Block resting in the middle of this platform produces a 1-Up Mushroom when hit by Raccoon or Tanooki Mario's tail. The next portion of Brick Blocks is similar to the previous one, with a Pile Driver Micro Goomba disguising as one of the tower's features. To the right of this is a Warp Pipe leading up. The four exposed Brick Blocks to the right and below the Warp Pipe produce a total of ten coins if hit ten total times each. If Mario has a P-Wing, he can break the Brick Blocks above the Warp Pipe and fly to a floating Brick Block. This block produces a 1-Up Mushroom. There are two more Brick Blocks above this one, but these two cannot be seen on screen. Mario must fly off-screen in order to hit the blocks. The first block is slightly left and above the visible Brick Block. The second one is to the right and above the previous one. The Warp Pipe leads Mario back inside on the next level of the tower. Here, Mario comes across a Thwomp, a Roto-disc, and a Spike Trap. Past the Spike Trap are some blocks that lead to another Spike Trap. Mario must clear the gap with the Spike Trap below and venture into a Warp Pipe. This Warp Pipe leads upstairs to another Warp Pipe to the left hanging from the ceiling. This pipe takes Mario back outside. The exit Warp Pipe sits on top of four Brick Blocks in the shape of a square. Raccoon or Tanooki Mario can hit these blocks with his tail to receive a coin from each one. To the right is a small gap with a cloud across. A Red Koopa Troopa walks on this cloud. Above the cloud is three ? Blocks surrounding a Brick Block. When hit, the Brick Block produces a Beanstalk that leads Mario to another cloud. Mario must jump up to the next cloud and through the Warp Pipe above that one, completing the level.

After completion

Once the player has cleared the tower, if they wish to cross between the land and the sky, they have to go through a small portion of the tower consisting only of two Warp Pipes and some platforms.
