White boxes[1] are large lifts from Super Mario Sunshine. They resemble translucent cubes with white rims and colorful corner pieces, like a toy block. White boxes only appear in the secret courses of Bianco Hills and Casino Delfino, in which the move and rotate along set paths. While white boxes can be stood on by Mario, in some contexts they function as obstacles that can push him off of other platforms and down bottomless pits.

White boxes have inconsistent sizes, and some have faster, more complex movements than others. Some necessitate Mario keep moving while on top or else risk being tossed off their side.
