- Super Paper Mario (pictured) was originally going to be a Nintendo Gamecube game
- Bowser's Castle from Mario Kart 8 is the only original Bowser's Castle course that does not feature any Thwomps
- World 5 is only world in from Super Mario Galaxy 2 where Yoshi does not appear in any galaxies.
- New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are the only home console entiries from the mainline Super Mario platforming series that is not currently playable on Nintendo Switch
