Regarding the sentence "Additionally, what appears to be an early iteration of this character is simply referred to as カメック (Kamek) in concept art for the original game." Is that talking about the concept art that shows it alongside Shaman and Shy Guy? Isn't that probably just a generic Magikoopa? I mean, generic as in a generic enemy, not as in Kamek. If I recall correctly, isn't "Kamek" just a generic name for the species? Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 15:09, November 24, 2023 (EST)
It is: in Japan, Magikoopas are all Kamek, and very rarely if ever is the "character" one distinguished in any way - hence why he pretty much never appears alongside different blue ones. I'm not sure which concept it is talking about, though. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 15:28, November 24, 2023 (EST)
I assumed it was talking about the relationship chart. Blinker (talk) 15:47, November 24, 2023 (EST)
Well the other "clouds" there do show boss characters, like Croco and Booster to the left. The normal Shy Guy is a bit eyebrow-raising, though. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 16:51, November 24, 2023 (EST)
The clouds seem to be more for keeping the page looking semi-organized than anything, there's plenty of bosses outside of them, after all. Anyways, the Japanese text says「そそのかされ系」("enticed type"?), while the boss that points to them says「そそのかし司祭( 杖 )」("enticing priest (staff)"?). As far as I can tell, anyway. All the other regular enemies are labeled "(something) zako" though, so it's still an odd exception. Blinker (talk) 17:26, November 24, 2023 (EST)
