How is this necessary? This is just a list of generic sheep with no actual purpose in any of the games they appear in, which I'm pretty sure violates MarioWiki:Generic subjects.

While I agree sheep don't have any significant purpose in the games listed here, there are sheep in Super Mario Odyssey, where they're found in Tostarena and might even serve a more important role this time around (if I recall correctly, one Tostarenan asks Mario to return his sheep to him). Would it be best to wait until the game's release to make this proposal?

Yeah.
A lot of this article fails the generic subjects policy. We already have articles for "specialized sheep" such as the Lamb's Lure, Sheep Attack, Snooze Ewes, Falling Asheep, Shear Terror, and the like. Really, the only "sheep" that serves a merit here are the sheep from Super Mario Odyssey, as they are beings you can actually interact with and actually herd to obtain Power Moons. None of the other sections should be allowed to stay.
So, shall we shear this article?
