Dead System?[edit]

I hear that no more new games are being made for the gamecube anymore. Should I put down in a trivia section that the gamecube is a "Dead Console", as with the other dead systems?

Well, technically no system is ever "for sure" dead. Games are still being independently made for the Nintendo Entertainment System. I would note that Nintendo has stopped producing GameCube titles. That way, we won't be behind if an independent company releases another game for it, and Nintendo/Mario is our focus here anyway. Either way, it's something that should be in the article. Good call. The nintendo wii plays GC games when put in the slot, so why delete them.

DK Bongos[edit]

The DK bongos are compatible with the wii becuase of that new wiiware title...I think it deserves its own article.

As I said on the DK Bongos talk page, until proof is given of that, it should be merged here. Once it is proven that it is compatible with the Wii (which I have no doubt), it can be it's own article again. — Stooben Rooben 22:39, 16 May 2008 (EDT)

I shall bring back this question: Should the DK Bongos GameCube controller regain a page of its own or not? I personally think it really should get its own page, since it's a Donkey Kong-themed accessory with (originally) 4 compatible games, them being the Donkey Konga trilogy and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, along with its planned use for the cancelled GameCube release of Donkey Kong Barrel Blast before it became a Wii game, and in the WiiWare title Plättchen Twist 'n' Paint, where it was planned to have a multiplayer mode that includes 4 DK Bongos but Nintendo requested the functionality to be removed. The DK Bongos themselves were inspired by the Bongo Blast move in Donkey Kong 64, and later appeared with the same design as the controller as part of Donkey Kong's Final Smash, Konga Beat, in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U (and appears unused in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate). There are also other games that can be played with the DK Bongos (either intentionally or unintentionally), such as Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum 'n' Fun! on Switch (unintentional, but an article was made about it working well), and 3 indie games such as Beat Nebula, Squatbot, and Beat Bull. There's probably other games that planned to support the DK Bongos, or other indie games that support them, but those are just the ones I've seen mentionned before on like Wikipedia. There is also the fact the DK Bongos are pretty popular in some challenge runs by people online (like how some people beat Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild using that controller). Anyways due to all of these reasons, I really believe the DK Bongos should have an article of its own. An argument could also be made about the Nintendo GameCube Action Pad made for Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix to be honest, since it also is a controller made specifically for at least one Mario-related game. If the Nintendo GameCube Broadband Adapter, an accessory that wasn't specifically made for a Mario-related game but is compatible with... a single Mario game, then surely we can have articles for two accessories that were made specifically for Mario-related games, with Mario-related designs too, and that are pretty noteworthy, right? Oh also sorry for the wall of text, I just really like the DK Bongos and think it really deserves a page. --Metalex123 (talk) 20:38, February 20, 2023 (EST)

The SM64DS Map?[edit]

I just played Super Mario 64 DS and I can't find a GameCube logo anywhere. So where is it exactly? --Yes, it's Akfamilyhome. 05:58, 20 October 2011 (EDT)

Mario launch titles[edit]

Should we note launch titles or not for the GameCube? In other words, should we write next to Luigi's Mansion in the Mario-related games section that it's a launch title? Note that this could apply to all other consoles. Luigi Emblem 18:32, 13 July 2017 (EDT)

Cartridge?[edit]

Where in Super Mario Sunshine did it hint at the GameCube using cartridges at one point? Cartridges are only used in the dev kits. --Supernintendo128 (talk) 17:40, December 5, 2019 (EST)

Start-Up Tones[edit]

Would it be ok if there was a sentence or two about what the different tones are heard by doing an action?

Sure, I don't see anything about the startup sounds on the page besides the media files. TheDarkStar Sprite of the Dark Star from Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey 23:27, December 16, 2019 (EST)
