Who is this?[edit]

Is this the baby form of Cranky Kong or Donkey kong? When Mario was an adult Donkey kong was a baby so it has to be Cranky Kong. But I can't imagine that this ape who was a good friend of mario would kidnap mario's girlfriend oO

A lot of that is just baseless speculation. Heck, we don't even know which it is. But since his name is Baby Donkey Kong, we just state it's the baby version of the current Donkey Kong. Best not to complicate things, because even the article is at war with itself on that question... o_o My Bloody Valentine

Nintendo obviously didn't care too much on this topic. Donkey Kong Jr. is the current Donkey Kong, correct? But if DK Jr. is the current Donkey Kong, there's no way Baby DK should be the current Donkey Kong. Unless DK has two versions of himself, but that would be strange. Therefore Baby DK must be Cranky... Kobble No, Baby DK would be Donkey Kong Junior. Nintendofan146 18:24, 6 July 2008 (EDT)

"DK is the most powerful of the babies" <- an opinion, isn't it? Sprite of the Ruby Star in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door CrystalYoshi Yoshi Egg Sprite.png 11:17, 7 June 2008 (EDT) No, it's basically proven.Nintendofan146 18:25, 6 July 2008 (EDT)

Shorten?[edit]

As far as I know, he's only ever referred to as "Baby DK" in Yoshi's Island DS and Mario Super Sluggers; I think "Baby Donkey Kong" only comes from a card game, but that's a low-priority source from what I can tell. LinkTheLefty (talk) 12:40, 9 October 2014 (EDT)

While we could indeed shorten the article's name, it should be clear to most that "DK" stands for Donkey Kong, and the name of this article currently matches the name of the article of his adult counterpart. The article already states that he is usually called Baby DK, and I personally think that's enough. Lumastar (talk) Super Mario Galaxy promotional artwork: A Green Luma
Yeah, I agree with Lumastar. After all, he's the baby version of Donkey Kong, so I think giving him the full name is good enough. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 00:27, 21 July 2015 (EDT)
