The Swap Card was one of the items that are used during in Mario Party 4 that allowed the user to swap items with an opponent randomly chosen. This was the replacement for the Barter Box, although the latter let players choose who they would exchange items with and was much rarer than the Swap Card.

The design for the card was later used for the item Point Swap in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
