Snifit or Whiffit (known as Hit It or Snifit in the PAL version of Paper Mario: Sticker Star) is a game show hosted by a Snifit bearing the name of its species in Paper Mario: Sticker Star. The show is accessed in Stump Glade in World 3. The show consists of contestants having to clear three challenges inside a room filled with poisonous gas, hence the "whiffit" portion of the show's name. The prize for winning the show is the third Wiggler Segment. Returning after beating the level gives Mario nothing, though an HP-Up Heart becomes accessible after defeating Gooper Blooper.

Before the show, Mario is given two chances to opt out. Doing so results in him being tossed out of the studio and back into the area before. After completing all the challenges, Mario is taken to a backstage area where he can complete the stage, but the host also offers him the option to partake in a bonus challenge. Completing this challenge allows him to obtain the Radiator thing; if Mario has already obtained the Radiator, he receives a coin reward instead.

Challenges

Pick-and-Choose Panic

The first challenge in the show is a true or false quiz. Snifit gives Mario a question, which he must answer by hitting the and blocks on both sides of him. There is no limit to the number of questions that may be answered wrong, but Mario must answer three correctly to advance.

The questions asked are chosen at complete random, though there is a set number of possible questions. The answers to some of the questions also vary, as they have a true and false wording:

  • "Your host's name is Snifit." (True)
  • "Koopa Troopas, Paratroopas, and Lakitus can all fly." (False)
  • "Right now there are 30 Snifits in the studio audience." (True)
  • "If you use a Spike Helmet sticker, you can also stomp enemies with spikes." (False)
  • "A Shiny Jump sticker is more expensive than a Jump sticker." (True)
  • "To swing the hammer, you press..."
    • "[...] Y Button." (False)

  • "To use the Battle Spinner, you need five coins." (False)

  • "A Jump sticker will cost you 3 coins. You can sell one for 2." (True)
  • "If you're low on HP, you can't use the paperization ability." (False)
  • "A Hammer sticker has a more powerful attack than a Shiny Hammer sticker." (False)
  • "If you get all Poison Mushrooms in the Battle Spinner, all foes get poisoned." (False)
  • "If you get a Super Star, you temporarily become..."
    • "[...] invisible" (False)
    • "[...] invincible." (True)
  • "Bowser Jr.'s father is King Bowser, and his mother is Princess Peach." (False)
  • "Wiggler's body has four segments, not counting the head." (True)
  • "If you use a Mushroom sticker,..."

  • "Mario has no siblings" (False)

  • "This doesn't leave the room, but..."
    • "[...] Princess Peach is actually a man." (False)
    • "[...] King Bowser actually loathes Princess Peach." (False)

Big Bonking Snifit Bash

Known as "Snifit Bash Up" in Europe, the second challenge of the show involves Mario having to bash the heads of "unpaid Snifit interns" ("young Snifits on work experience" on the PAL version) with the hammer, similar to the Whack-a-Mole game in real life. There are four holes that Snifits briefly appear from, and Mario must hammer twenty Snifits to advance. Occasionally, hearts which recover 5 HP also appear briefly from the holes.

Unrelentingly Exciting Shuffle Game

The final challenge is a shell game. There are three blocks, with only one containing a check mark; the others have not only an "X" but also a Snifit. Mario must select the correct block three times to win. Hitting one of the Snifit blocks triggers a battle with a Snifit, but the room also fills with poison gas as soon as the battle begins. After each battle, the blocks that once contained Snifits remain empty until the round is over. Selecting the correct block also gives Mario a heart to recover 5 HP. The speed at which the blocks shuffle also changes with each round, and in the final round, a fourth block is added. During the challenge, Mario always faces the direction of the correct block. Completing this takes Mario to a backstage area, where he can finish the level.

Big-Bonking-Panic-Pick-And-Choose Snifit Bash

The show's secret, optional bonus challenge is a combination of the first and second challenges. The room is filled again with poisonous gas. Mario is given a true or false question (the questions are unchanged from the first challenge), but must hammer five Snifits before he can answer. In addition, the question only remains on-screen while Mario is still bashing the Snifits; it disappears as soon as he is able to answer. As with the first challenge, answering three questions correctly results in victory, allowing Mario to obtain the bonus prize, which is the Radiator.

The show returns in Paper Mario: Color Splash held place at the Cobalt Base known as Snifit or Whiffit: Seabed Edition. The show now has seven rounds and Mario can answer by using the cards he gets during their adventure. Clearing four rounds gives him the Mini Paint Star. If he loses a round, then a Big Urchin will appear and it will get closer to the bubble for each unsuccessful round. Four rounds ends the game and the Big Urchin will pop the bubble, giving him an instant Game Over. Clearing every round allows Mario to play the three-part Bonus Round for an Instant Camera Thing Card without making a mistake. Doing so ends the bonus round and the Big Urchin will pop the bubble. Mario can talk to a blue Snifit outside who will sell Mario a pack of cards, for 1000 coins, containing all the cards needed to get through each round. If Mario has already been on the show at least once, the Snifit will sell the Complete Set for 500 coins, and the Bonus Set for 2000 coins. The Bonus Set contains all the cards needed for the bonus stage, and the player gets to start the show at the bonus stage.
