Ski

Skis are a vehicle in the games Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its sequel Yoshi's Island DS.

They are found mainly in snowy or icy levels, and usually at the end of a level; skis more or less share every identical characteristic in both Yoshi's Island and its sequel. Unlike most other vehicles in these games, Yoshi gets skis by entering a hut and emerging on them. Although players cannot change the direction Yoshi is skiing in, pressing B makes him perform a ski jump. Crashing into a block of ice causes Yoshi to roll up into a white ball and roll uncontrollably for a couple of seconds. Skiing sections of a level can last as much as three sections or 'screens' of a level.

They first appear in Level 5-3, Danger - Icy Conditions Ahead, in Super Mario World 2, as well as Level 5-Extra Kamek's Revenge. In Yoshi's Island DS, they appear in Level 4-7 Teeth-Chattering Chill Zone.
