The featured articles of the wiki are articles that represent the best SMW has to offer. This is not a way to showcase the articles of your favorite characters, items, or the like.

What makes a featured article?

So just what makes a featured article? Well, we've prepared a list just in case someone should ask that, and it is as follows.

An article must...

1. ...be well written and detailed
2. ...be unbiased, non-point of view
3. ...be sourced with all available sources and appearances
4. ...be stylized fairly nicely
5. ...not be tagged with any sort of improvement tags (i.e. {{rewrite-wikidump}}, {{rewrite}})
6. ...not have a reasonable amount of red links; use common sense
7. ...have a complete, detailed biography if it's a character article
8. ...not have been previously featured

How to nominate:

1. First, nominate an article you find is worthy of featured status, putting it at the bottom of the list below; see criteria above.
2. Others will object to the nomination if they disagree that the article is good enough; they will then supply reasons for doing so, and ways to improve the article (errors, style, organization, images, notability, sources).
3. Supporters can adjust the article until the objectors (with reasonable objections) are satisfied.
4. The article is placed on the featured article list and added to the front page queue.
5. Also, if, at least a week after the article's nomination, that article has 5 supports and no objections, it will be added the queue, and will be officially known as a "featured article".

How to vote:

1. Before doing anything, be sure to read the article completely, keeping a sharp eye out for mistakes.
2. Afterwards, compare the article to the criteria listed above, and then either support or object the article's nomination.
   1. If you object, please supply concrete reasons for doing so, and how it can be improved.
3. As stated above, any objections will be looked upon by the nominator, supporters, and anyone willing to improve the article, and action will be taken to please the objectors.
4. Once all objectors' complaints have been solved (or the article has 5 supports and no objections after at least a week), the article will be added to the queue and be officially known as a "featured article".

I weakly oppose because 1-2 sentences per game won't cut it. 4-5 sentences will, so someone please expand the article and I'll support. Wa _T^C_@^Y 18:33, 11 December 2006 (EST)

Objections: 1) Facts: I’ve never seen a Chain Chomp fall asleep as stated in the intro. Some one should confirm that for me =). 2) Organization of Sections: Instead of listing all the characteristics of the Chain Chomp in the intro, we should create a Characteristics section. The Appearances section should also be separated into a Major Appearances and a Minor Appearances section, so games with only a sentence of info can be combined. We could also create a Sub-Species section briefly describing and listing the sub-species of the Chain Chomp. Some of the games only talk about the sub-species, even though this article is specifically about Chain Chomps. Also, for some reason, the Cameo section comes before the Mario Superstar Baseball section. 3) Needs expansion. For example, in the Super Mario RPG section, the enemy known as “Chomp” is not even mentioned. This section should state the location of Chomps, the properties of Chomps, and the special attacks of Chomps. This is the same for the Paper Mario section, which for some reason is part of the Super Mario 64 section. (Also, in the Super Mario 64 section has a sentence fragment in it.) Other game sections could also be expanded, as not all Chomps act exactly the same from game to game. 4) Extremely poor grammar overall. -- Son of Suns

I'm not opposing, but I'm noticing the only supporter and therefore the creator the idea for the nomination has 'Yoshi' in his username.Mariofan132

Nothing personal but I just think Wayoshi nominated Yoshi because it is his favorite "character". Read the top. I know you didn't but still. Yoshi is thoroughly expanded and and explained, but... this isn't 100% determined on length. If thats true, I would've nominated Jump. I'm not opposing or supporting though.Knife (talk)
