The Long Jump is a special move first appearing in Super Mario 64 and its remake, Super Mario 64 DS. It also appears in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2. To use this move, the player must Crouch while in motion and Jump, causing the character to jump a long horizontal distance.

It is possible to start moving backwards after the initial jump, a maneuver that can activate many in-game glitches.

There is also a variation of long jump called the Double Kick, and can be done in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2. This move can defeat enemies and activate items.
