Template:Species-infobox A Kong is an ape or monkey capable of speech and building houses. The Kongs willingly wear clothes, and some of them have hairstyles. They are often plagued by the crocodilian Kremlings. They all live on Donkey Kong Island. The name Kong does not necessarily mean that they are related, but could mean that they are a part of a clan or tribe.

In the real world, Kong is a colloquial term referring to any type of monkey, ape, orangutan, or gorilla, and there is a famous movie monster called King Kong.
