Grandma Toadstool (or Gramma) is the grandmother of Princess Peach Toadstool. She appears in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. During the game, Grandma Toadstool dresses up as the princess so Peach can sneak out of the castle and join Mario on his adventure to defeat Smithy and recover the seven Star Pieces.
Grandma Toadstool is a Toad, meaning that Peach is not fully human. In fact, this means that Princess Peach is at least one-fourth Toad. Grandma Toadstool was a minor character in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!. However, instead of being a Toad, she was a human like her granddaughter. Grandma Toadstool appeared in the episode "Little Red Riding Princess". In this parody of Little Red Riding Hood, Grandma Toadstool was sick, and Princess Toadstool, Mario, and the rest of the gang traveled to her house for a nice visit. However, King Koopa actually sent Grandma Toadstool away, so that he could dress up as the old woman in an attempt to trick the princess.
