Gargantua Blarggs' debut is in ''[[Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island]]''; they return in ''[[Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3]]''. These huge creatures attempt to block [[Yoshi]]'s path by rising from the lava as the dinosaur approaches. To the pass by a Gargantua Blargg, Yoshi must throw an [[Yoshi's Egg|egg]] at the monster's mouth. The fire creature will then sink into the lava, allowing Yoshi to continue his journey. However, they reappear after a few seconds. Unlike the smaller [[Red Blargg]], Gargantua Blarggs cannot be defeated with an [[Anywhere POW]].

 

In ''[[Yoshi's Woolly World]]'' and ''[[Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World]]'', Gargantua Blarggs merely appear as an outline composed of an orange scarf. It takes three yarn balls to make the Gargantua Blargg hide back down into the lava. They mainly appear in the level [[Lava Scarves and Red-Hot Blarggs]]. There is also one in the fire heart area of Baby King Bowser's Castle. If Yoshi is given an [[ice watermelon]] by the "All-you-can-eat ice watermelons!" [[Power Badge (Yoshi's Woolly World)|Power Badge]], he can use the melon to ultimately take down a Gargantua Blargg with one blow.

Gargantua Blarggs reappear in ''[[Yoshi's Crafted World]]'', in the level [[Poochy's Magma Run]]. They are made of bubbled slime and have the same behavior as usual. When a Gargantua Blargg is hit by Yoshi's egg, it spins sinking down. There is also a costume and a craft based on Gargantua Blarggs.
