Dread Kong

Dread Kong is a large intimidating looking Kong and the first boss faced in the game Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. Dread Kong is the ruler of the Banana Kingdom, which is the first kingdom Donkey Kong ventures through. Despite his fearsome appearance Dread Kong is actually the weakest of the Kongs faced in the game, as such he was easily defeated by Donkey Kong in their battle on the treetops. Dread Kong later appears at the end of game ceremony where he, along with the other Kongs faced honor Donkey Kong's victory over the evil Ghastly King.

• The name Dread Kong is probably derived from the dreadlocks Dread Kong has in his hair.

• Dread Kong did not exist in the beta version of Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. It was instead, an evil-looking Donkey Kong look-alike with grey fur, black eyes, and glowing red pupils.
• Interestingly enough, without dreadlocks, Dread Kong resembles Donkey Kong in appearance, suggesting that the Beta version was a prototype.
