A Count-Lift[1] (or Countdown Platform)[2] is a type of lift appearing in Super Mario World. It has a grassy top and a dirt-like bottom, with a countdown timer in the middle. Count-Lifts appear in only one level: Valley of Bowser 3. When Mario or Luigi jumps onto a Count-Lift, it moves in a straight line to the right while counting down. When the timer reaches zero, the lift falls. Most Count-Lifts last for only one second, but some last for four seconds.
A Count-Lift also appears in the Modern version of the Game & Watch game Turtle Bridge in Game & Watch Gallery 3. When Toad accumulates 300 points, the platform below the Cloud Blocks turns into a three-second Count-Lift, which starts counting down after Toad lands on it. Unlike in Super Mario World, the Count-Lift is pink and does not move to the right while counting down. Also, when its timer reaches zero, the Count-Lift shakes a little before falling, reappearing shortly afterward. If Toad jumps onto or stays on the Count-Lift as it falls, he will lose a life. At 600 points, the Count-Lift turns into two Donut Blocks.
