Template:Species-infobox Blue Hootz are common enemies in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. They look like small, blue owl creatures that wear livid-colored viking helmets with tiny horns. Due to the structure of the helmet, whose margins are descending towards their downward-facing beaks, Blue Hootz always seem to have angry expressions. Their bodies are rather simplistic, being egg-shaped and having two small wings on each side. Unlike the Hot Hootz, which they share traits with, Blue Hootz are always engulfed by dangerous blue flames that never go out.

Blue Hootz either hover stationarily in the air or fly around in set patterns, and usually appear in flocks of two or more. Because of their flames, they are very hard to get destructed - not even Rambi the Rhino is capable to ram into them. The only way to defeat a Blue Hootz is from the distnace: in other words, throwing a carriable object or enemy is effective against them; it is also effective to perform a Kong POW move in their presence. Blue Hootz function similarly to the Zingers of Donkey Kong Country and Flaming Tiki Buzzes of Donkey Kong Country Returns/3D.
