They only appear throughout underwater areas in Stage 3, where they hide in dark holes in the stage's background. While hiding, only their eyes are visible. When Wario approaches, Big Mouths will lunge out of the hole with their mouths wide open, attempting to bite and damage Wario if he is in front of the Big Mouth.
