Smeech

Smeeches are new enemies appearing in the game Super Mario Galaxy 2. They appear as pink winged creatures with two beady eyes and plump lips. Their only method of attack is sucking Yoshi's health away. If Yoshi tries to eat one, the creature will drain his health away. They can only be defeated with a Star Spin. Smeeches are first encountered in the Hightail Falls Galaxy. They are encountered later on in the Haunty Halls Galaxy and Sweet Mystery Galaxy.

Trivia

They may be related or the Poink as the enemies from Bianco Hills in Super Mario Sunshine that would attach itself to F.L.U.D.D.s nozzle.
