Mushroom City
Mushroom City is a heavily populated city in the Mushroom Kingdom. It has appeared in many different spin-offs, but its most notable was as a racecourse in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. The city is usually seen at nighttime, and has only made a few appearances in the daytime. It is likely the kingdom's largest city. It seems to resemble New York City.
The city appears as a race course in the Star Cup of Double Dash!!. There are a few junctions in the course, but all paths lead to the same place. The course starts out on a straightaway which almost immediately splits into two intersecting paths. The straight path is longer, but the right path, leading into the center of the city, has many cars that could spin or possibly flip the player in the case of the Wiggler Train and the Bob-omb Car. Either path leads to a single path with a small turn. If players look off into the distance, Mushroom Bridge can be seen. After the turn, the right half of the track becomes nonexistent; falling results in Lakitu's rescue. Continuing on this path for a while, the course repeats.
There is a shortcut located at the junction. If one takes the straight path, but stays on the right hand side, a short alley will come with an Item Box placed there. This leads straight to the turn ahead.
Mushroom City can be seen in the background below when racing in Rainbow Road in the game. Curiously, some high buildings show a mushroom-shaped roof.
Although the Skyscraper in Mario Kart 64 might have taken place here, Mushroom City's first actual appearance going by this name was in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!.

- Neon Heights – A skyscraper holding many attractions on it's roof.
- Jr. Street – A lavish Basketball court illuminated by city lights.
- Moonview Highway – A busy parkway that cuts through the city.
- Toad's Turnpike – A toll road in the city.
