Brooklyn is a city located in the real world and New York.

It is also where Mario and Luigi were thought to live before Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island in which they were revealed to have been born in the Mushroom Kingdom.

Sometime after being born in the Mushroom Kingdom they where sent to Brooklyn. Probably at a very young age.

This is the setting for the Super Mario Bros. (movie).
