The Battle Tour is the eightieth tour of Mario Kart Tour, which begins on October 5, 2022 and ends on October 18, 2022.

As the tour's name indicates, it introduces Battle Mode as a new playable mode in both single-player and multiplayer, with Balloon Battle being the first confirmed playable mode, and GCN Cookie Land and GBA Battle Course 1 being the first battle courses. The tour is also heavily food-themed, introducing Luigi in a chef outfit and several food-themed karts and gliders. In addition to the new Battle Mode content, a new remix course based on the Donut Plains courses from Super Mario Kart known as RMX Donut Plains 1 debuts in this tour.

The Autumn Celebration event begins in this tour. The event will last for three tours for the first time since the Winter Celebration in the Wario vs. Waluigi, 2022 Los Angeles, and Sky Tours, and will end in an upcoming tour. This is also the first time a new event begins immediately after a previous one had ended.

Starting from this tour, the maximum player level has been increased to level 400, the maximum tier has been increased to 99, the maximum grade has been increased to S+9, the base-point cap for drivers, karts, and gliders has been increased, the number of cups in each tour has been raised to 15, many items were added to the Daily Selects, and tour gifts no longer contain drivers, karts and gliders. Premium Challenges++ have also been added to the game.

This is the first tour to not have the regular weekly pipes that can be fired by rubies and contain spotlight items, which have been replaced by the new Spotlight Shop introduced in this tour, including the removal of the spotlight items in the regular weekly pipe being raised to a higher shelf in the second or third course of cups during their featured tour, making Mii Racing Suits and commemorative items the only ones that can be raised to a higher shelf.

The eleventh set of Expert Challenges will be made available at the start of this tour and will end in a later tour.

A new bonus challenge called Precision Gliding appears in this tour, this is where players can hit the targets in order to gain points, once they reach the land, they will gain bigger points.

Starting from this tour, a massive number of drivers, karts, and gliders, including Kamek, Tanooki Mario, the Tropical Truck, the Goo-Goo Buggy, the Luigi Parafoil, and the Rose Parasol, are available in regular tour pipes, including the All-Clear Pipe.

Today's Challenge

Players' most recently used kart and glider are chosen, and favorite and favored ones have extra priority. Opponents are arranged randomly. On day 1 of this tour, players finish a race in SNES Choco Island 2R in the Mii Cup using the Green Mii Racing Suit for a free pipe launch. Starting from day 2, players have to finish a race in the earliest incomplete course that is not in any of the ranked cups using the driver shown on the course's thumbnail every day to obtain the corresponding reward in the table below. Once all of the courses are completed, the courses are selected at random.
