History

The game was first announced during a Nintendo Direct broadcast on February 17, 2021. That same day, the official trailer was released on YouTube.

Known Information

Mario, Yoshi, Waluigi, Princess Daisy, Bowser, Princess Peach, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Wario, and Toad will all be available as characters. Additionally, players will be allowed to use their Miis in both Story Mode and competitive play. King Bob-omb has been mentioned to be playable on the main website.[4]

In the Story Mode, the character plays as their prefered Mii starting with a basic amount of experience, but they can win experience points by participating in battles and upgrading their stats, which are the following: Power (how far can you drive the ball), Stamina (how long you can dash), Speed (how fast you can run), Control (how straight you can hit the ball), and Spin (how much you can spin/shape shots), including upgrading their Lead Rank. In the Overworld, the player can interact with several familiar characters of the Mushroom Kingdom, such as Goomba, or Hammer Bro.

Both sand traps and water hazards appear as obstacles of different settings and terrains.

The hole number, par number, yard amount, and wind speed are all provided during a swing.

The player is allowed to analyze and examine the entirety of the course before swinging.

Available terrains include grasslands, a desert, and a rainy forest.

A shot gauge is provided, allowing the player to see how their shot will be affected by slopes. A scan also shows the distance and elevation of the hole.

Both button controls and motion controls may be used.

New game modes are provided, such as Speed Golf. In this mode, players take shots constantly and must race to their ball each time it is hit, continuing this until it is put into the hole. Items along the way may help the player.

A Story Mode is also available, in which players use their Miis to interact with characters for practice, as well as for gaining experience points they may use to increase certain stats, including power, stamina, speed, control, and spin.
