The Hoohooligans are an elliptical people that inhabit Hoohoo Village. Their body structure is very comparable to a cactus, but they are most likely designed after upright beans. The Hoohoo civilization, who are said to be ancient Hoohooligans, wrote jokes in ancient letters called Hooroglyphs and constructed Hoohooros. An old Hoohooligan runs the Mysterious Mine Carts minigame.

In Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Hooskis that resemble brown Hoohooligans appear.

Trivia

  • The Hoohooligans' name is a portmanteau of "Hoohoo" (the style of laughing Hoohoo Mountain was named for) and "hooligan" (meaning "a rowdy person").
  • The Hoohooligans closely resemble Haniwa, simple ancient Japanese sculptures, as well as the Gyroids from Animal Crossing and the Cactuar monsters from Final Fantasy.
