Apprentices (also known as Snifit Cadets) are blue Spookums that train and reside in Booster Pass. They are met in an area in Booster Pass which could be opened by hitting a switch in Booster Tower. They are training on an obstacle course. When Mario runs into one, he will battle him. At the end of the obstacle course, Mario can get a few items.

Apprentices are quite weak in battle, and were no match for Mario.
