- Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (pictured) was released on May 3, 2018 in Japan.
- Nintendo announced that Tatsumi Kimishima will step down as president on June 28, 2018.
- During the Nintendo Direct presentation on March 8, 2018, WarioWare Gold was announced for the Nintendo 3DS and will release in August 2018, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey was announced for the Nintendo 3DS and will be released in 2019, both a Nintendo 3DS and a Nintendo Switch port of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker was announced and will release in July 2018, a Nintendo 3DS remake of Luigi's Mansion was announced and will release in 2018, and a new Super Smash Bros. game was revealed and will release in 2018. More information about Mario Tennis Aces (which will be released on June 22, 2018) was also revealed.
- Super Mario Odyssey was updated on February 21, 2018, adding the multiplayer online mode Balloon World to the game, along with new costumes and Snapshot Mode filters.
