- Charles Martinet considers Super Mario Sunshine (pictured) to be an "underrated game."
- At the beginning of the Donkey Kong Country Returns level Tippy Shippy, several fossils resembling Parasites from the Metroid series can be seen.
- Toadette is the only playable Mario Party 8 character to not appear in Mario Party 9.
- Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 was tentatively titled Super Mario Land 3: Kairiki Wario (スーパーマリオランド3 怪力ワリオ). Kairiki Wario roughly means "Super Strength Wario."
