Mario Party: Star Rush

Template:Infobox Mario Party: Star Rush is an upcoming game in the Mario Party series. It is scheduled for release on October 7, 2016 for Europe, October 8 for Australia and New Zealand, October 20 for Japan, and November 4 for North America. It will be the second Mario Party game for the Nintendo 3DS after Mario Party: Island Tour and the fourteenth game overall. The game is confirmed to be compatible with amiibo.[1]
Play modes
Although many other modes are confirmed to appear[2], the currently confirmed game modes so far are:
- Toad Scramble (1-4 players) - Each player starts as one of four colored Toads and moves across a nonlinear game board simultaneously, recruiting ally characters, playing minigames, and fighting bosses.[1]
- Coinathlon (1-4 players) - Players must collect as many coins as they can in 60-second minigames to progress. Items available.[3]
- Mario Shuffle [4]- A game mode that makes use of amiibo.
- Balloon Bash - Players must collect coins on a mini board with 20 turns and minigames after each round.[3]
- Rhythm Recital - Players can play classic Mario tunes using the touchscreen. Each character has their own instrument.[3]
- Challenge Tower [5]
- Boo's Block Attack - A puzzle game that involves spinning sides of a number block to earn points. Points are earned with 3 or more sets of numbers matches. [6]
- Character Museum - Allows players to view characters collected in the game. amiibo options are also found here.[3]
- Minigames - Where players can play Free-For-All, Boss, Bowser, and Coinathlon minigames.[3]
- Multiplayer - Download and local play options available.[3]

Compatible amiibo[21]
Each game mode supports the Super Mario line-up of amiibo figures. However, each mode has different effects for each amiibo. If an amiibo is used in Toad Scramble, the character on the figure joins Toad on the very first turn. They're also stronger than normal allies. If an amiibo is used in Coinathlon, the player can use that character. They can also use two items during the mode. If an amiibo is used in Balloon Bash or Mario Shuffle, the player will get a Special Dice Block at the start of the game. If Mario Party 10 data is on the amiibo figure, a Gold, Silver or Bronze Dice Block will be gifted. If the Dr. Mario amiibo is used on Rhythm Recital, a new music track can be used. After getting a Game Over by touching an Amp on Challenge Tower, if an amiibo figure is use, they can continue right from that spot. However, each figure can only be used once per day. If the Boo amiibo is used on Boo's Block Party, Boo appears in the background. If an amiibo is used in the Character Museum, the player can collect stamps.[22]
