King Koopa's Kool Kartoons was a live-action show made by DIC, like The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, but featured King Koopa instead. It was featured after the Super Show, in only certain parts of the world, including California. King Koopa gave out gift certificates and NES related gear, and often read fan mail. He often had kids on the show as his "King Koopa's Troopas", and sometimes featured quizzes that kids could mail their answers to. The King showed old cartoons from the 1920's 1930's, which has nothing to do with Mario. The show only aired for the holiday season of 1989/1990. In the same year, it was nominated for a daytime Emmy. Koopa Troopa costumes consisted of Koopa Hats and white shirts that say "Koopa's Kartoons" and have a turtle shell on the back. The King also had a pet, who resembled a dog and weasle, that had the ears of a bat.
