Mario on the Dotwood Tree.

The Dot Wood Tree, the setting for Chapter 3-3, entitled Up, Up, and a Tree in Super Paper Mario, consists of three stages. In the first stage, the player must climb up the trunk of the tree, hopping from platform to platform. The second stage takes place inside the tree, where Mario and friends must manipulate red and blue switches to make platforms of their respective colors appear. After clearing the second stage, the player engages in a battle with Dimentio. It is here that it is first revealed that Dimentio has a hidden agenda. The final stage takes place among the leaves, where the player must reach the top of the tree and use the red wind to carry them over to a pipe to the end of the level, as Barry instructed.

Trivia

  • The name is also a pun on "Dots," a unit by which a printer's inking speed is measured (dots per inch).
