The Lyrics is a special item found in Paper Mario. During Chapter 3 in the events of the game, Master Poet tries to make a special song for Chanterelle which she don’t actually know to make her sing again. When he’s done writing the Lyrics, he realized that he needs a composer to play the Lyrics to make Chanterelle sing again after Princess Peach is kidnapped by Bowser. As Master Poet told that there’s a rumor that there is a composer around the Mushroom Kingdom, there is a Toad called Toad of the Desert who composes music; he lives in Dry Dry Outpost. Master Poet begs to Mario to find the composer who can compose the Lyrics for Chanterelle as he give the item to Mario. When Mario gives the Lyrics to Toad of the Desert, he would be impressed by these incredible Lyrics Master Poet has wrote. He also said that the writing is simple and has "packed them with powerful feeling". After the Toad of the Desert finished reading at the item, he wrote the music keys in the Lyrics; which changed into the item, the Melody.
