Some people believe this to be an easter egg of sorts, though it's more likely just his shadow being displayed above the ground due to a glitch in the dynamic lighting engine. Luigi Hanged?
I was looking at this screenshot and saw in the backround that the shadow of Luigi looks like it's being hanged. His shadow is off of the ground.
