In Super Mario Odyssey, the Hat Trampoline is a flower-like object inspired by the Spindrift from Super Mario 64. Striking it with Cappy or a Ground Pound causes its flower to open and launches Mario into the air, spinning, and gently twirl back to the ground. It is a discrete, unique object in Super Mario Odyssey.
The subject of this article behaves nothing like a Hat Trampoline. Jumping on this object simply launches Mario skyward in a jump. Objects like this are not even unique to the Cascade Kingdom - the majority of kingdoms have an iteration of this type of object matched to its topography, like a beach parasol or a mushroom. The only thing unique about "it" is how high it launches a captured T-Rex, which is not even an attribute of the object itself. Its the only kingdom where a captured T-Rex could even access something like this.
We have a page for launching, platformy objects in the Super Mario games - the trampoline article. I think the contents here would be more appropriate there, and less conceptually confusing. It seems most reasonable to assume the Prima Games authors referred to this object as a "hat trampoline" in error. They are not the same.
I offer two options:
- Merge Hat trampoline (Cascade Kingdom) with Trampoline.
- Keep them separate.
