Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass predictions

Each of the six waves features two cups, each with four courses, for eight courses per wave. There are two courses each from Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64, three courses each from Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and Mario Kart 7, four courses from Mario Kart DS, five courses from Mario Kart: Super Circuit, seven courses from Mario Kart Wii, and 22 courses from Mario Kart Tour. Excluding the Tour courses, DS Shroom Ridge and GBA Snow Land are the only classic courses in the Booster Course Pass that had not previously appeared as classic courses in other games, while Sky-High Sundae, Yoshi's Island, Squeaky Clean Sprint, and Untitled Halloween Course are the only courses to make their series debut in the pass.

Courses from Mario Kart Tour not based on real-life cities lack the "Tour" prefix, regardless of whether they made their first appearance in the Booster Course Pass or Tour. In the Tencent release of the DLC in Mainland China, all courses from Mario Kart Tour lack the "Tour" prefix, likely due to Mario Kart Tour's unavailability from app distribution platforms in Mainland China.

In the British English version of the pass, 3DS Rock Rock Mountain and Wii DK Summit are known as 3DS Alpine Pass and Wii DK's Snowboard Cross respectively, as was the case in the British English versions of their original appearances. However, courses that had different names between European French and Canadian French in previous games instead use their European French names in the pass in both versions.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass if I made it

If I was the sole person designing the Pass and I was limited to Tour's lineup of courses, this is what I'd put. You can probably see a lot of personal bias here lol. I tried to give it a more even spread of Tour courses, putting four in each Wave except for the Waves containing Rainbow Roads. I also limited myself to what courses could have gone in which Waves, by looking at Tour's internal render dates and ID gaps to see the earliest they could've technically shown up. The only exception is N64 Mario Raceway, which as far as we know wasn't rendered until around the 2022 Autumn Tour, but I really wish it was in and this is my list anyway, so what you gonna do xd

Each of the six waves features two cups, each with four courses, for eight courses per wave. There is one course from Super Mario Kart, two courses from Mario Kart 64, four courses each from Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, and Mario Kart DS, five courses from Mario Kart 7, six courses from Mario Kart Wii, and 22 courses from Mario Kart Tour. Excluding the Tour courses, Wii Dry Dry Ruins is the only classic course in the Booster Course Pass that had not previously appeared as a classic course in another game, while Sky-High Sundae, Yoshi's Island, Squeaky Clean Sprint, Dangerous Desert, and Frightful Forest are the only courses to make their series debut in the pass.

Footnotes

  1. ^ This spot could just as easily be GCN DK Mountain honestly, it's basically a tossup, but I'm gonna stick with the Noshi gang for now.
  2. ^ This is my stand-in for Tour's datamined "mobMD" course, the final city set to come.
  3. ^ This is based on the not-so-bold assumption that Lakeside is coming to Tour. If it's GBA Cheese Land instead, I'll have some reworking to do here.
  4. ^ This is my stand-in for Tour's mystery non-city course, for which we don't have an abbreviated codename or a known ID gap but I suspect will be Halloween-themed regardless.
