Jungle Puddle is a river running through the Yoshi's Island Jungle found. Blue and red Blurps are native to this river and will attack their prey in relentless pursuit. Red Blurps act very much like Boss Basses from Super Mario Brothers 3, as they will leap at a Yoshi and eat him or her, killing the Yoshi in one hit. The other type of Blurp, which is blue in color, will spit water at its prey in an attempt to knock it into the water, where it will then swallow the unfortunate beast whole. This level is considered to be one of the hardest in the game.
In the beta version of the game, the Jungle Puddle was much creepier and had large, eerie bubbles and even Bone Dragons.
