Template:Missionbox Tall Trunk's Purple Coin Slide is the third mission of the Tall Trunk Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy 2. This mission can only be played if the player collected the Comet Medal in the first mission and when a Prankster Comet is in orbit.

Layout

The player starts on the Tube Slider Start Planet and will meet a Gearmo, who claims it lost 140 Purple Coins on the slide and asks the player to recover at least 100 of them, four of which can be collected before the player starts sliding. The layout of the slide remains the same as in the previous mission, along with the enemies with the exception of the Spinies. Reaching the end with at least 100 Purple Coins will have the Gearmo reward the player with the Power Star, though reaching the end with less than 100 will cause the player to lose a life.

Trivia

  • If the player finishes this mission with 0 Purple Coins, the Gearmo says, "?! You didn't get red?! Did you do that on purpose? Well… I suppose that is impressive in its own way, but I have to say, I'm still pretty disappointed..."
