I'm a bit uncertain to the status as main game and spin-off this page is currently applying to WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$! and Game & Wario respectively. First off, I don't see WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$! as a main entry, unlike the other "main" WarioWare games and even Game & Wario, this game traces no story, there's is no plot involved in this game and nothing relevant happens at all, also, the microgames are directly recycled from the first one, which indirectly would make it pseudo-port or remake of the original, we should note that the main genre of this game is implied on the name, this is a party game, the same genre of Game & Wario, (I aware WarioWare: Smooth Moves also has party elements but compensates this by having a story for each character and new microgames). Following this logic, that would make WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$! a spin-off as well. Though I agree on its current spin-off status, I'm recounting Game & Wario because Nintendo nor Intelligent System never explicitly called it a spin-off, the dude that called it a spin-off was not one of the developers, just merely the fella that showcased the game to the press on the game floor at a certain game show (can't remember if it was E3 2013). But invariably of that, I think the secondary games is really misleading because those games have what it takes to be called spin-offs, the only true secondary game would WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase, even though that game has enough elements to be considered its own game thanks to its own integrated microgames as you don't necessarily need WarioWare: D.I.Y. to purchase this game. Therefore, I think games in this series should be classified like the following: | |||
