Green's bridge being revealed in an interdimensional transparency on Mount Lineland.

Mount Lineland is a mountain ahead of Lineland Road, nestled before the enormous Yold Desert. This element of geography has been used in the original Paper Mario, in which Mt. Rugged was nestled before Dry Dry Desert. In fact, the mountain's environment is also similar to Mt. Rugged, despite its lack of Monty Moles, Clefts, or even some sort of bird.

Chapter 1-2: Afoot in the Foothills

Template:Spoiler After adventuring through Lineland Road and getting used to switching from 2-D to 3-D, Mario found that to cross Mount Lineland he'd have to put his new skills to good use. However, there wasn't too much out of the ordinary for most of the ride; that is, until he reached Yold Town.

At Yold Town, Mario met his Lineland counterpart, Red the Bridgemaster. Red guarded the bridge leading into Yold Town, but was at first unavailable due to rolling out of the wrong side of the bed and finding himself in the 3-D dimension. With Mario's help, Red was safely returned to the 2-D dimension. Red wasn't through with Mario, though; he asked the plumber, "Which color is the manliest? Red or Green?" Red stubbornly refused to reveal the Yold Town bridge if Mario answered "Green" or "Both," but when Mario answered "Red," Red kindly revealed the wooden bridge.

After Mario proved to WatchItt that he was the hero by showing him Thoreau, the old mayor called up Green the Bridgemaster and ordered him to let Mario through. Mario visited the green-loving Bridgemaster, and Green kindly revealed the steel bridge leading out of Yold Town. However, before Mario left Green asked him which color was better; Red, or Green. Even if Mario answered "Green," Green would be furious; because due to Mario wearing red, Green assumed the plumber was lying and kicked him out of his house. Mario removed himself from the ground, and crossed the bridge to the Yold Desert. Template:Endspoiler
