Fire Mountain

Goal: Make the same standard as Mystic Forest.

Template:Articleabout Template:Worldbox

Fire Mountain is the third world Mario goes through in the game Mario vs. Donkey Kong, preceded by Donkey Kong Jungle and followed by Spooky House. As its name suggests, the Fire Mountain is a volcanic world filled with lava that would instantly knock Mario out upon contact. During the boss fight, Mario must pick up the barrels thrown by Donkey Kong and throw them back at the ape a total of four times in order to beat the level.

Enemies

Levels

3-1

The opening demonstration involves Mario stepping on to a red moving platform that eventually gets pushed higher up into the air by the lava below, allowing Mario to reach higher ground. This level introduces the aforementioned platforms and the threat of instant death through lava.

Level 3-1 of Mario vs. Donkey Kong.
The first section of Level 3-1.

The first half of this level, unlike most, features a symmetrical landscape with rectangular block chunks in the bottom corners of the level separated by lava that has two red platforms on it that move between the chunks of land. There are also two fairly large square-shaped blocks towards the middle of the level, with the exit on the eastern block. The key is on the far-western block chunk, opposite of where Mario's starting point is, requiring him to use the red platforms to make it across the lava and duck under the blocks by ducking as the red platforms approaches them. Once across, Mario must use the lava that pushes the red platforms into the air to get the key on to the nearby block, and once more for Mario to get the key across to the exit.

Presents

  • Red Present - Located in mid-air between the two 3x3 block bunches, the red present is obtained through jumping off the rising platforms at their peak.
  • Yellow Present - N/A

Mario Golf: World Tour also features a variety of online tournaments for players to take part in. They can either be made by Nintendo, other players from across the world in the form of Private Tournaments, or made by Callaway Golf in partnership with Nintendo. After playing the tournament, the player must upload their score in order for it to be ranked (by score then order of submission) in the leader-board which can be viewed at any time during the tournament period. Tournaments can be played an infinite amount of times assuming the deadline hasn't been met, allowing for continuous improvement of a player's score. After a deadline ends for a tournament, the final standings can be viewed in an ending ceremony, and both a trophy (gold for the top 10%, silver for the top 20-30%, and bronze for the top 40-60%) and coins are received depending on how the player places. Gaining a trophy in certain regional or worldwide tournaments will allow the player to enter one of four yearly major worldwide tournaments (such as the Castle Tournament or Star Open) that reward the player with a more impressive trophy and a larger coin payout.

Trophies earned from Regional and World Tournaments in the Castle Club appear on the trophy hall's display (a maximum of ten normal trophies can be on display at any one time), and trophies from major tournaments appear behind the glass display towards the centre of the room. Trophies are sorted by the type of trophy (gold > silver > bronze), the type of tournament it was earned from (world > regional) and the end ranking the player received from highest to lowest.
