Template:Species-infobox Super Piranha Plants are giant Piranha Plants found in the game New Super Mario Bros. and its sequel. They are not to be confused with the Piranhacus Giganticus, which acts just like regular Piranha Plants. Unlike most Piranha Plants, Super Piranha Plants are never found inside pipes due to their gigantic size. Mario must shoot three fireballs at one to destroy the monstrous plant. When defeated, they will give up eight coins instead of the usual one coin. In the sequel, this is reduced to three coins. Another similar enemy that appear only in New Super Mario Bros. Wii is the Big Venus Fire Trap.
