Mario as Spring Mario.
Spring Mario is a new form in Super Mario Galaxy, that Mario first finds in the Toy Time Galaxy. In this form he is able to jump higher, and is no longer able to run. Instead he will simply bounce around the level. Using this new Item, Mario is able to bounce very high to reach items hidden in the air. This ability also grants Mario the power to climb very steep inclines in a slinky-like fashion.
