The first appearance of Neckys was in the game ''[[Donkey Kong Country]]'', here they were common enemies. Neckys will try to attack [[Donkey Kong]] and [[Diddy Kong]] by flying into ~~them or by throwing coconuts at~~ them. Neckys can be defeated by simply jumping on them or by throwing a barrel at them. ''Donkey Kong Country'' also features two Necky bosses named [[Master Necky]] and [[Master Necky Snr.]]

''Donkey Kong Country 2'' and ''Donkey Kong Land 2'' also has a Mini-Necky boss named [[Krow]]. Normal Neckys don't appear in ''Donkey Kong Country 2'' or ''Donkey Kong Land 2''.

Neither Neckys or Mini-Neckys appear in ''[[Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble]]'' or ''[[Donkey Kong Land 3]]''.
